Turkey attached a great importance to communication ties between Turkey, a bridge between the east and the west, and Iran, a bridge between the Middle East and Far East, Yildirim said.

Turkish and Iranian authorities would discuss the ways to boost cooperation during the meeting, he said.

Turkey has recorded a great progress in the information technology in the past five years, Yildirim said.

Iranian Communication Minister Soleimani said that Turkey and Iran could cooperate in production of devices used in the communication sector.

Turkish Transportation Minister Yildirim paid a visit to Iran in February 2009 and this visit became the beginning of the sound cooperation between the two countries, Soleimani said. (EÖ)
