Iran’s WiMax licenses will be awarded on Sunday

Tehran - Information and Communication Technology News Agency (ICTna):“Licenses for Iran’s WiMax auction winners in all provinces in a ceremony that will be held in Communications and Information technology ministry  will be awarded to the winners on Sunday” Mahmood Khosravi, radio communications regulatory office president and Communication and Information Technology vice minister said.

According to the Communication and Information Technology News Agency (ICTna) report from radio communications regulatory office this technology with the high rate of data transfer and the wide coverage can meet the broadband users need and open the doors for new stage in information and communications.

In Iran firms like MTN Irancell, Paya Communication Ind consortium, Iran Mobin, Rayaneh Danesh Golestan, Spadan are the auction winners and the licenses will be awarded to them. This licenses that make the owners able to offer WiMax with VOIP services to domestic and business users are awarded  for a 6 years period but they can extend for another 5 years.
