Afghan govt calls for telecom cooperation with Iran

Afghan ICT Minister Abdol-Razzaq Vahidi said Kabul is willing to give Iran a telecom link to Central Asian countries in return for receiving a seabed optical fibre telecom link through Chabahar. Vahidi told IRNA that in addition to Central Asia, Afghanistan can assist Iran in connecting its telecom network to China and India as well, thanks to the strong ITC infrastructure in that country. The Afghan IRC minister arrived in Tehran on 06 December. He said that he hoped the two countries could dynamize their cooperation in the telecom field.
